Description

Dawn Patrol

The warrior and her beast. I wanted to paint an image that celebrated the relationship between male and female characters in our world. It’s a symbiotic, natural and essential relationship for not only our survival but its integral in virtually every living creature on the planet. I chose a mix of main characters because I wanted to portray a working relationship between the players and not limit its application to humans.  The female warrior and the male tiger together are a very powerful. Both are completely responsible for their own contribution in the partnership but as individuals, they are less formidable. The individual rolls they play are unique to themselves, but together the unite brilliantly. They are dependent and united, not because they must be, but because they choose to be to form a greater entity than they are by themselves. It’s about survival. This painting is a celebration of the relationship between male and female characters. From the female soldier mounted on the male Sabretooth Tiger to the phallic towers built on the edge of the v shaped valley and the bridge linking the towers to the girl, these symbols are independent but when combined, complete a more powerful single entity.

My composition starts with the central characters. The eye would fall to the warrior and then to the tiger. You’re lead to the left by the tigers direction where I pull you up through the castle towers and up to the top of the painting. The crossing direction of the clouds brings you along to the sun, the central light source. From here, your lead back down through the painting by the animals tail and water fall at the rear.

This will take you to the shopping cart page where you can enter your personal details and go to PayPal to complete the transaction.

Freight Costs

All freight costs are the responsibility of the purchaser. The estimated freight cost can also be calculated on the Checkout Page by selecting your country of origin without having to continue to complete the purchase. For more information on freight costs, please go to the 'Shipping' tab.

Customs, Duties and Taxes

All stock sold in Australia is inclusive of GST (Government Sanctioned Theft). The GST component is clearly stated on all invoices. All stock sold in the UK distributed through Amazon is subjected to customs, duties and taxes. Jantke Art Studio is ATO & HMRC registered and tax compliant in Australia and the United Kingdom. We have no other customs, duties or tax obligations for sales in any other country. All other clients are responsible for their own compliance to all customs, duties and tax obligations they are subjected to in their own countries.

Shipping Prices

As often as we can, we offer ‘free shipping’ on our stores in Amazon, eBay and Etsy. Customers like to know, at a glance, what the entire cost of the product is going to be before going through the whole checkout process. The downside to this pricing type is that the freight component is simply added to the items cost, so when you purchase a single item, the freight charge is OK but you’re paying far more when purchasing multiple items. We have set this website up to allow the purchase of multiple items with a single freight charge, so the products are cheaper because they do not include any individual freight component and freight is calculated at the end of your purchase on the whole order. The estimated freight cost can also be calculated on the Checkout Page by selecting your country of origin without having to continue to complete the purchase.

All orders are processed daily and will be posted within two to three business days of the receipt. Orders are not shipped or delivered on weekends or holidays. Please allow additional days in transit for delivery. If there will be a significant delay in shipment of your order, we will contact you via email or telephone.
As we are the primary manufacturer of all products we sell, un-available stock is virtually non-existent. Custom sized or uniquely manufactured items will have a manufacturing time delay. Please contact us directly for further information.

Who is the artist?

Peter Jantke is an artist living in South East Queensland Australia. Together with his wife Loletta, they have developed an art based business selling his artworks and using his images to produce a number of commercial products. For further information on Peter, Loletta and their business please follow this link to the about us page.

What is meant by ‘Petes Art’?

Peter produces two kinds of images – his own work and the commercial artwork needed for the business. The difference between the two is simple. His choice of subjects and style and the subjects and styles required to produce commercially diverse and generally appealing products. ‘Pete’s Art’ is the work he undertakes for his own pleasure and personal artistic development.

What mediums are the originals done in?

Peter paints in oils, pastels, pencils and using digital applications like Adobe Photoshop. All images, including the digital images are a traditional style using brush, pastel blocks and airbrushes.

Can I find out more about the individual paintings?

Sure. Every listing has a general description and some also have video commentaries of the artist talking about the image, however if you want to know more please use the ‘Enquiry’ tab.

Can the originals be sent overseas?

Yes, in fact a large proportion of the original artworks goes to overseas buyers. We are used to freighting to non-Australian destinations.

If I purchase a painting, do I own the copyright to reproduce the image?

No. The sale of the original artwork does not include the copyright to reproduce unless otherwise agreed. The business will produce no greater than 500 limited edition prints of many of the titles and this is the condition of sale. Jantke Art Studio owns the copyright on all images produced and the sale of the original artwork and the copyright for commercial reproduction are two separate entities. Both can be negotiated and either sold separately.

Do the originals come fully framed?

Generally, no they don’t although there are a few that have them. This is listed on the description pages. For the purpose of website display, most of the images are framed digitally.
