Description

Free Dancer – PR021

Starting as a  life drawing and finished later in my studio. The problem I had with this pose was how hard it was to too hold, so we had to start – stop – start – stop for the entire time. This girl was beautiful. A student and dancer who came up with this stunning ‘breaking free’ pose.

When I got back to my studio, I completed the image with solid stone columns behind her to emphasise the ‘breaking away’ element and the light source in front to create direction. My aim was to enhance this sense of ‘movement toward freedom’ by locking my model to weight and burden and then contrasting that with clear light direction and the feeling of movement towards it. I separated the character and the stone pillars by adding the cape to describe the movement and enhanced it with colour contrast.

This painting is one of the series of ‘Petes Art’ paintings that are representative of my desire to describe and translate individual elements of my images. To represent a character using colour to express unseen things like attitude or emotion or use multiple objects to form another linking the entire image to a single story. The extra and most important dimension in art – the imagination.

The original painting can be seen here

JAS Prints – Canvas and Paper Art Prints

Jas Prints are a high resolution full colour reproduction of original artwork by Peter Jantke. Manufactured by the artist at his studio in Queensland Australia.

Using the latest in solvent ink printing technology, JAS Prints are long lasting, UV resistant, robust, true to life reproductions. They come printed on either paper or canvas, with the canvas being either the print only rolled into a postal tube or stretched and finished ready to hang. The collection includes a range of subjects native animals and birds, frangipanis and flowers, aircraft, ships and fantasy art. All prints are available in two or three sizes depending on the design.

Print Only – The canvas or paper print alone is rolled and placed into a postal tube for more cost effective and safer long distant freighting. The print will require finishing before hanging and can be either stretched over a timber stretcher bar (recommended) or inserted into a picture frame. canvas-prints-jas-services-tube
Stretched and Finished – The canvas print is stretched over a timber frame, fixed and finished ready to hang on a wall. We always look for timber sourced from renewable timber plantations. To transport, the print is wrapped in plastic, bubble wrap and cardboard. Freight charges will he higher for this product, however it will arrive ready to hang on your wall. canvas-prints-jas-services-all-views

Freight Costs

All freight costs are the responsibility of the purchaser. The estimated freight cost can also be calculated on the Checkout Page by selecting your country of origin without having to continue to complete the purchase. For more information on freight costs, please go to the 'Shipping' tab.

Customs, Duties and Taxes

All stock sold in Australia is inclusive of GST (Government Sanctioned Theft). The GST component is clearly stated on all invoices. All stock sold in the UK distributed through Amazon is subjected to customs, duties and taxes. Jantke Art Studio is ATO & HMRC registered and tax compliant in Australia and the United Kingdom. We have no other customs, duties or tax obligations for sales in any other country. All other clients are responsible for their own compliance to all customs, duties and tax obligations they are subjected to in their own countries.

Shipping Prices

As often as we can, we offer ‘free shipping’ on our stores in Amazon, eBay and Etsy. Customers like to know, at a glance, what the entire cost of the product is going to be before going through the whole checkout process. The downside to this pricing type is that the freight component is simply added to the items cost, so when you purchase a single item, the freight charge is OK but you’re paying far more when purchasing multiple items. We have set this website up to allow the purchase of multiple items with a single freight charge, so the products are cheaper because they do not include any individual freight component and freight is calculated at the end of your purchase on the whole order. The estimated freight cost can also be calculated on the Checkout Page by selecting your country of origin without having to continue to complete the purchase.

General Information

All orders are processed daily and will be posted within two to three business days of the receipt. Orders are not shipped or delivered on weekends or holidays. No stock will be posted until the payments are fully cleared. If we are experiencing a high volume of orders, shipments may be delayed by a few days. Please allow additional days in transit for delivery. If there will be a significant delay in shipment of your order, we will contact you via email or telephone.
As we are the primary manufacturer of all products we sell, un-available stock is virtually non-existent. Custom sized or uniquely manufactured items will have a manufacturing time delay. Please contact us directly for further information.

What’s the quality difference between the paper and canvas versions?

Both the paper and canvas versions are printed using the same technology in inks, so they are fade resistant and long lasting, however there are distinct differences between the two. The canvas prints can be stretched over a timber stretcher bar and can be hung on a wall in this format where the paper prints need to be fully picture framed with top mats, glass and backing boards. The canvas can also be wiped with a damp sponge to clean but paper and water don’t get along so well. Basically, the canvas is more durable and cheaper to frame.

What does ‘Archival quality canvas and inks’ mean?

In large format printing there are many grades of canvas available to printers. The lowest and most common grades of canvas in the market place are linen bases similar to bed sheet fabrics. These prints are not archival and have a limited life span. The best quality are cotton and poly cotton based fine weave canvases with quality gesso bases made specifically for the ink type. We only use these ‘real’ canvas medias and print with the latest in solvent ink.

Are they durable and long lasting?

Absolutely. We only use archival quality materials and being a solvent ink base, they are washable with warm water and a soft sponge. Because we use ‘real’ canvas, our prints will always hold their tension and therefore their presentation is always high in the long term. The ink quality is the best available for fade and water resistance.

Why do you offer stretched and non-stretched canvas versions?

We sell online through our website, Amazon, eBay, Google, and Etsy and freight our products throughout the world every day. Stretched canvases come complete are ready to hang on a wall, however the freight cost is massively more expensive than if the print alone is rolled and freighted in a postal tube. In most cases, our clients will find it cheaper to purchase the print in a tube and have it stretched and finished locally.

Do they come framed ready to hang?

The only framed and finished, ready to hang prints are the ‘stretched and finished’ versions which is only the internal stretcher frame. Nothing comes with the external ‘dress’ frames . The rest will require finishing at the customers end. Only the ‘A4 Kits’ come with a top mat and backing and can be fitted into any pre-made A3 frame.
